Town Pastors are Christian volunteers from across all the local churches, who are a presence on the streets of Woodbridge during the night time hours on Friday nights, looking out for and providing help and support to vulnerable people. While the pastors are on the street they are backed up by a prayer team located close to the centre of town. The pastors are in radio and mobile contact with the prayer team, enabling prayer for any people and situations they come in contact with at the time.  There are also people who support the scheme in prayer from their homes.

The Town Pastors scheme has been running for three-plus years in Ipswich and is now spreading across Suffolk. TPs are established, or being established in Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Woodbridge, Stowmarket, Sudbury and now Lowestoft is the latest. Town Pastors represent the love of Jesus to those who need care in the town centres on a Friday or Saturday night.
